General translation refers to the translation of documents concerned with topics that are close to the reality of our daily lives. It therefore includes topics such as heritage, tourism, leisure, entertainment…
It requires a skilled professional with a strong linguistic expertise. Indeed, grammar, vocabulary and syntax must be handled with extreme skillfulness to accurately process the style and meaning of the original into the target language. Translating is about transposing ideas from one linguistic and cultural framework into another and it takes an excellent knowledge of the architecture of both languages and cultures to turn out a good translation.
As a student, I received advanced academic training in the language, culture, history and literature of English-speaking countries and became particularly interested in translation. I started working as an English teacher and simultaneously joined a team of bilingual journalists (see RESUME). I wrote articles in English on South Western French heritage and culture. Following this experience, I soon became convinced that my life-long interest in the English language could only be expressed through the medium of translation, which is a form of writing. Based on my academic and professional backgrounds, I am in a position to provide my clients with excellent quality work.
